Quality Assurance Chemistry Specialist I

DESCRIPTION
This is professional work in the support of Environmental Chemistry related to environmental protection and the regulation of government entities, private industries, and their respective facilities and/or properties.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Participate in business development activities;
* Interaction with other project managers, clients and owner/agents;
* Manage projects and Project Managers;
* Approval authority for all company work products;
* Train and supervise technical staff;
* Provide consulting services to clients in respect to:
- Environmental chemistry;
- Quality assurance;
- Laboratory oversight;
- Environmental regulatory compliance;
- Document preparation and review;
- Legal testimony

SKILLS
* Experience with CERCLA, SARA, NPDES, RCRA and other environmental regulatory reporting, investigating and remediation;
* Prior experience with permitting, environmental remediation and management.
* Five (5) + years of analytical experience in an environmental testing laboratory or equivalent experience;
* Advanced knowledge of chromatography, spectroscopy, colorimetric, and gravimetric techniques;
* Advanced knowledge of volatile organic chemistry;
* Prior EPA analytical experience for water, wastewater, hazardous waste & air;
* OSHA forty hour HAZWHOPPER Training Certificate;
* State of CA REA I or REA II certification a plus;
* Functional knowledge of MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and e-mail systems;
* Must be highly personable, motivated and possess excellent communication skills;
* People management skills.

DEGREE LEVEL ATTAINED
MA/MS degree in an Chemistry or and environmental discipline, PhD degree is preferred

ACCREDITATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
State of CA REA I or REA II certification;
OSHA forty hour HAZWHOPPER Training Certificate.
